29 July 1870 — Madrid
Friday. 29th [July 1870]. I spent all the day culling out the satins & preparing them for a new strip of the velvet embroidery. The Dr came in the morng & also Mrs Green to see Hill– At 6.30 we went out driving to leave some cards & then drove in the Fuente. It is much cooler today there having been rain in the mountains. We came home to dinner at 8 and Mr Cerruti came in just as we had finished. I went to see after Hill & then Cerruti took us out for a turn in the Fuente. No especial news today except that Bismark says he has the treaty in Benedetti’s handwriting.
