4 August 1870 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 4th [August 1870]. There was a meeting held here called by Dr Jilly with a view of establishing an English Dispensary. Having a headache I did not attend but lay on the sofa but Henry told me nothing had been arranged as there had been an attempt to make it a religious affair wh of course the different sects would not agree to. At 5 Cerruti came in but brought no more news. At 6 we took a ride but when I returned I found my head worse & was obliged to leave the dinner table & go to bed. At 11 I began to get better. | |
