5 August 1870 — Madrid | |
Friday. 5th [August 1870]. I did not get up till after breakfast & then went up to Hill while the Dr was there & afterwards wrote a letter for her & then came down & did some copying for Henry. At ½ past 5 I went out driving & Henry rode with Mercier. I fetched Isabel Madrazo & took her out—drove in the Prado & then brought her here to see the house &c. After dinner we went to the Prims. A few people there De Blas, the Benites & Mercier rushed in for a few minutes. We did not stay very late. The weather is much cooler. | |
