25 August 1870 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 25th [August 1870]. Took our walk in the Retiro at ½ past 5 & a turn in the Fuente. M. & Mme Bernar & Madrazo (the painter) & his daughter Isabel dined with us. Mme Bernar sent me a lovely bouquet & Mme Montijo also sent me one by Cerruti who came in the evening as also Messrs Seymour, Goschen & Hunt & Clarita. Mr Hunt & I both sang & also Isabel a little but her music is very weak & small. | |
