29 August 1870 — Madrid | |
Monday. 29th [August 1870]. Got up very late & my neck still very stiff. Canitz came to call—calm & confident—but with no more news. At 5.30 being rather better I wrapped up & we went for a drive in the Mon Cloa. Henry got out & walked while I drove up & down & came home much better. We were hardly home when a thunderstorm & dust storm arose but did not last long. After dinner Cerruti came in & he & Henry went to Prims & I went to bed but Henry brought back no news. | |
