10 October 1870 — Madrid | |
Monday. 10th [October 1870]. Went to work with the Dss & came home at 3. The Riaños & Palmaroli dined with us. We intended going to Granada tomorrow for 2 weeks but we find that there is such fear of the yellow fever that there are such precautions quarantines & fumigations that we were likely to be detained & so we have given it up much to my regret. | |
