14 October 1870 — Madrid | |
Friday. 14th [October 1870]. I went at 11 to Pal: to sit for my picture & Clarita joined me. When I came back I had a headache from the closeness of the day so Henry went out riding alone. We moved upstairs & I took possession of my new boudoir & tonight we sleep upstairs– Dined at 7 & the Riaños dined after dinner she & I stayed together & our husbands went to the Academy of History. While they were away Cerruti came & spent the evening till our 2 gentlemen came back abt 12 o’cl: My head still ached & I was glad to go to bed. | |
