9 November 1870 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 9th [November 1870]. I wrote hard all the morng for Henry & letters to Eng: to send by the messenger who went today. Wet day & I did not go out so Car went for a walk with Henry. Mme Bedmar came to see me—also M. & Mme Jooris—also Mme Ulloa & Mme Alezon & her 2 girls who stayed for a cup of tea. I had a lesson of Inzenga at 1—& we discovered my voice to be mezzo sop: not contralto! Inz. & Mr Hunt dined. Clarita was not well eno’ to come. We had some singing in the eveng. Clarita & Cabriani came in the eveng. | |
