10 November 1870 — Madrid
Thursday. 10th [November 1870]. I worked all the morng at a berthe for Car & wrote letters. It was a showery day but still we said we would walk in the afternoon. We went the round of the Prendarias but it was disagreeable & muddy walking so Car & I came home in a cab. The “Rosalia” came as she had done latterly most evengs with mantillas, lace &c. to sell. After dinner we went to the Regency & found a good many people. The Prims were there. The Dss looked lovely in a plain black silk trimmed with red velvet.
