12 November 1870 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 12th [November 1870]. Car & I took a drive this afternoon & paid some calls in the morning. Cerruti had come to consult with us & Mr Ash: on the children’s fête wh we fixed for Tuesday. When we had come in from our drive Car & I took a little walk to get warm & when we came in found Emilia had been & gone—“Rosalia” came with things to sell & Palmaroli came & we asked him to do Car’s picture & he said he would let us know if he had time. Henry & I went to the Opera but Car being tired stopt at home. We saw Lucia di Lammermoor & Tiberini sang. | |
