20 November 1870 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 20th [November 1870]. When Henry woke me it was to say Arthur & Adeline had arrived so I got up in my dressing gown & went to sit in their room– The boxes from England also arrived today with my new gowns &c. Our joy at seeing Arthur & A was very great. Both well. It was such a wet day we could not go out. We made the As go to bed till lunch time. At 5 o’cl: Mme de Martino called. Mess Ash. Sey, & Goschen dined with us. | |
