28 November 1870 — Madrid | |
Monday. 28th [November 1870]. Wrote & played piano with Adeline. Mrs Hamilton came to see me in the morning. After lunch Adeline Hy & I went to the Museum to meet Mr Penrose. Car had gone out shopping with Emilia. We came home early. The Countess de Reus (Mme Prim) called & offered us her opera box for tomorrow. I taught Arthur the bass of a glee & then dressed for dinner. We had M. Mme et Mlle de Figueras Mr Bartoldi, Mr Blanc (the new Italian Minister) M. Zarco del Valle & Mr Ffrench.
