23 December 1870 — Madrid | |
Friday. 23rd [December 1870]. After lunch we went to the Museum to see the Copy of Titian’s Charles V which Mr Grau is making us (watercolours) & then met Mr Blanc. We then went to leave some cards & came home early. At ¼ 5 we sallied out again to tea with Messrs Sey & Ash & again found them out! But just as we turned back they drove up in a cab & so we went in & had tea & eat some of the cake they had been to buy. It was a wet eveng & we were glad not to be going out. We dined alone & afterwards A & I played duetts. | |
