24 January 1871 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 24th [January 1871]. I did not get up till nearly 12 when the bird man & Brehm both came & we put the new birds into the aviary, amongst them 2 lovely small parrots with grey bodies long tails yellow & orange head & crests. At 5 Emilia came with her boy & her brother in law to see us for a few minutes. Just as we sat down to dinner Mr Ff came & asked leave to dine with us. | |
