28 March 1871 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. [28th March 1871]. Got up rather late– Had lesson of Grau & expected Mme Canitz to join the lesson. She sent word she was not very well & cd not come. In the afternoon Henry & I went out & took a turn in the Retiro & before returning home went to the Fuente. It was before 5 & there were very few people. Still the K & Q were there. We came home early as Henry’s cold is still bad. Pal: came & took a cup of tea. We dined alone & spent a quiet eveng. I read my German book. | |
