12 April 1871 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 12th [April 1871]. I spent the morning in writing a lot of letters & began to copy for Henry. Directly after lunch Mme de Martino came to see me & brought her little boy. She sat a long time with me & after she was gone I had a rush to finish my writing. At 4½ Mme de Ayltons & her 2 daughters came & I proposed to take them out driving. We had tea & went out at 5 & took a drive in the Fuente. Mr Ff: came & dined with us. | |
