14 April 1871 — Madrid | |
Friday. 14th [April 1871]. I went at 11 to breakfast at the Serranos—& stayed till 2 when the carriage fetched me & I went to Palmaroli’s where he made a little sketch of me in a mantilla for an old frame we have. We came home abt 5. I did not go out again. After dinner Elisabeth de Mar: came & we had tea & sat together till 10½ when we went on to Mme de Canitz. There were a good many people there but we did not stay late. | |
