15 April 1871 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 15th [April 1871]. We got up early to receive my mother & Mr S. who arrived abt ½ past 8 from England. We spent all the morning shewing them our new finds china &c. At 5 we took them for a drive in the Fuente. They had come thro’ France & had left Eng: on Tuesday & travelled day & night to Bordeaux. They slept a night there & came straight on here– Mr Ff: came & dined—& we went to bed early– | |
