14 May 1871 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 14th [May 1871]. We arrived at Madrid at 10 o’cl: instead of at 6 on acct of the many delays at the station & the quantities of people who came & the Portuguese journalists who came also to visit the Madrid journalists. We had some breakfast & then I went to bed till luncheon, But did not sleep & was not tired. Mr Ash: came in afternoon. Mr Riaño, Mr Gay came to see us at 5. Mr Ff. & Go dined with us. In the eveng Henry went to the Presidencia to see the Serranos. | |
