28 May 1871 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 28th [May 1871]. Henry has a bad cold—the weather being very cold this year so I went alone to church– Clarita came to see me. I asked her to come after dinner. We went out in the open carriage but it was so cold Hy was obliged to put on his overcoat & we went to enquire after Mme Bertran de Lis who has had a stroke. We went afterwards to the Riaños & met them on their stairs & took them to some places they were going to & were glad to come home early. Messrs Ash & Go dined, also Pal. Clarita came later. | |
