12 June 1871 — Madrid | |
Monday. 12th [June 1871]. I went to Pals & sat an hour for my little portrait & thence went to breakfast at the Presidencia. It was the veille de la fete of St Antoine the Dss name day & she had a lot of people come to congratulate her. At 3 I came home & rested having a headache. Messrs Ash & Go & Pal: dined with us & after dinner a lot of people came—& we had a very pleasant evening. Henry was going to see the Dss but there were so many people he could not get away from home. | |
