24 June 1871 — Langham House, Portland Place | |
Saturday. 24th [June 1871]. Adeline came to see me & Connie came to take me out shopping; we walked to Lawledge & also Marshall & Snelgrove & did all we could to get me a bonnet but found none to suit. From Vere St I was coming home alone when; I met Helen Armstrong & she invited me to go with her to find a bonnet wh I did & we then went to luncheon with Susan Hambro—when Monty also came. At 3 I went to the F.O. to pick up Henry, we went shopping & went to see Mrs Burr. At 7 Blanche arrived from Canford & we met again after 19 months absence. We spent a quiet eveng & Adeline came & saw us. | |
