26 August 1871 — Munich | |
Saturday. 26th August [1871]. Arthur was going on very well so Henry & I started by the 9 o’cl train for Salzburg. We got there abt one. We went to the Hotel d’Europe & got some luncheon & to our astonishment found there Mr Buckley Mathew & his sister Mme von Orlich. We took a little carriage & drove over to Ischl. A storm threatened nearly all the evening & we were glad to get to the Hotel Bauer abt 10½ & a moment before the storm burst in all its fury. Connie & L were still up & came & sat with us for a little while—but as I was tired we soon went to bed. | |
