6 January 1872 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 6th January [1872]. I did not go to the Duchess’s to breakfast it being wet & cold & I did not go out all day. In the afternoon Mme de Canitz came to see me & sat some time staying to tea. The Duchess de la Torre also came to see me. Having rather a headache I did not go to Mme de la Rochefoucauld’s or Mme Ettling’s balls but went early to bed– | |
