Monday. 22nd [January 1872]. The Cortes which the King had suspended by Royal Decree met again & there was a most stormy meeting & disgraceful scene– In the evening at our ball the news was brought that Sagasta’s Ministry had resigned & there was great excitement as to what the King would do next. | |
