3 February 1872 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 3rd February [1872]. I went to breakfast with the Dss de la Torre & she explained why they did not come to the Christmas Tree that she had not been sure of the day. In evening we went to a ball at the Fernan Nuñez wh was a beautiful sight. They opened ½ of the first floor where is the ball room & we stayed till past one. The Duke & Dss de la Torre were there & I sat with her most of the eveng– All the world was there in & out of the situation & it was most brilliant. | |
