9 February 1872 — Madrid | |
Friday. 9th [February 1872]. I went to see Mme Ettling to make my excuses; we went together to see Eliz: but I did not stay as I had appointed to meet Henry in the Fuente so I rushed off. Mme Drag: & Mr Ff: dined with us. Dressed after dinner & we went to the Palace. There were theatricals at Medinacelis & a great discussion whether any Dips: who were invited could leave the Palace to go there. It was decided not so the Choteks & Canitz stayed very late & went late to Medinacelis. There were a great many people at the Palace being the last of the weekly receptions. | |
