16 February 1872 — Madrid | |
Friday. 16th February [1872]. Another fine day—but I had such a cold I could not go out. I had a great routing out & arranging of papers. In the afternoon I had visits from the Juan Madrazos the Architect, a protestant. She being English. Also from the Marquises of Ulagares, Aylton girls & Mme Dragonetti. At 6 Henry went to Hotel de Paris to see the Emperor of Brazil. He came back delighted with him, having found him very well informed, very nice looking & not unlike an Englishman. | |
