19 February 1872 — Madrid | |
Monday. 19th [February 1872]. I began to drink bottled Spa Waters. Took a drive & went to see Eliz de Martino & there met Mme Ettling. I felt I had a cold coming so I did not stay out long. At tea time I had a visit from my inevitable friends the Polos who bored me to death. We did not receive this evening wishing for one Monday’s rest. | |
