7 March 1872 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 7th [March 1872]. Mme Dragonetti called for me at 3½ & we drove to the Retiro gardens & there walked, coming home here to tea at 5. In the evening we took the Aylton girls to the Canitz & went ourselves first for a few minutes to the Serranos. There were very few people at either house. At Canitz’s I made acquaintance with a Prince Solm (nephew of the King of Hanover) who is here for a short time. | |
