14 March 1872 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 14th [March 1872]. Henry was not very well so after luncheon we took a quiet walk in the Buen Retiro. After dinner we went to the Serranos where we found Eliz, the Vernouillets, Whytes &c &c. As we were coming away & driving out of the garden gate the carriage wheels caught against the gate & broke the spring so we had to jump out & come home in a cab. | |
