10 April 1872 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 10th April [1872]. Col Fitch came down to garden in our patio for us. I left him & went off to breakfast with the Serranos—when Henry fetched me at 1. I came back & found the Col still at work & so we asked him up to lunch. Afterwards Mr Ff. called & when they were all gone I set to work to write for Henry till nearly dinner time. Dined alone & went to bed early. | |
