14 May 1872 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 14th [May 1872]. Susan & I were busy all the morning preparing for our departure & I sat for the last time to Franco. After luncheon a heap of people called: the Bernars, La Croix’s—Mme Ettling, Palmaroli, Esquivel & Isabel Madrazo. At 7 we dined & went to the train. Susan, Mrs Burr & I had a compartment to ourselves & slept. Henry & Morelli going in another to make more room. | |
