16 June 1872 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 16th [June 1872]. Church in morning & after service old Mrs & Miss Sickles came up to pay us a visit. The heat is getting very great, we did nothing all day & abt 5 Susan & I were obliged to take off our gowns & we laid down on the bed in my room & Susan read to me more of “Lorna.” Mr Whyte—Col & Mrs Byrne (she a Spaniard) the Hunts & Mr Sey & Genl Milans del Bosch dined with us & when they were gone Susan Mr Sey Henry & I went out walking for abt hour– | |
