25 August 1872 — Champfer | |
Sunday. 25th [August 1872]. I went down to & from church in the bus: with Queen Harman &c—met Maria & Rd who walked there. After lunch Henry took me to the meadow where I went on with my sketch of the cottage– Lady Galway joined us there & when it got too cold to draw we took a walk round the meadow by the river. A gentleman fainted at dinner & on our leaving table Henry met him at the door & found he was with his father Baron Stern & they were staying at St Moritz. After supper we had a visit from Spence who was more amusing & rambly than ever. | |
