30 August 1872 — Baveno | |
Friday. 30th August [1872]. Henry, Maria & Rd got up early & went up the Mottarone so I had breakfast brought upstairs & set to work to draw the view out of the window & drew all day long having some lunch brought to me as I was sitting on the balcony; abt 4.15 they appeared returning very tired—having had a 3 hours walk down altho’ they had gone up on donkeys– Dined at table d hôte & took our coffee in the garden as usual. | |
