17 October 1872 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 17th October [1872]. I spent morning painting trying to work upon Lord Somers hints. Mons. Colibert, the Duke of Wellington’s agent called. It was a damp day but I walked with Henry to the Palace to see Mme Dragonetti; he left me there & as it came on to rain sent a cab for me. Ffrench came in the afternoon & stayed to dinner– | |
