9 November 1872 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 9th November [1872]. Had the church practise at 10½. Spent morning writing & reading. Dressed before luncheon & at 2 we went riding to the Casa de Campo. The sun was almost too hot & the day superb, we got home a little after 4. Finished reading Shaw’s “High Tartary”. | |
