18 November 1872 — Madrid | |
Monday. 18th [November 1872]. I got up rather late– Idle morning working & painting & a visit from Emilia’s youngest boys. Henry & I drove out in the brougham leaving cards & to take a walk in the Retiro. He also went to put his name down at the Palace & heard that the King was rather better. Mme Muquiro called on us & later Mme Ettling in search of a cook! | |
