Thursday. 19th [December 1872]. I went to breakfast with the Serranos & was fetched home at one– Esquivel came to give me a lesson & I read & worked all the afternoon. Juanito Riaño came in the afternoon with a message from Emilia & I sent her word to come & dine tomorrow. Ffrench came to see giving a bad account of Mr Whyte & agrees to stay tomorrow & dine with us starting on Saty for St Petersburg. | |
