22 December 1872 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 22nd December [1872]. Henry went to poor Mr Whyte’s funeral at 2 o’cl: & I went out walking with Hill & we went round to the Puente del Sol & by the Calle Mayor to the Palace to see Mme Dragonetti & sat with her some time– The English papers told us of poor Conty Ashley’s death wh was quite sudden & unexpected to us. Messrs Haggart & Seymour dined with us & Ruiz Gomez came in the evening. | |
