23 December 1872 — Madrid | |
Monday. 23rd [December 1872]. I stayed in bed till late in order to rest. After lunch Henry & I rode to the Casa de Campo. It was a lovely warm day but we went out a little too late & on the way home felt it rather chilly tho’ we got in soon after 4. We had a dinner to the Ministers, Srs Zorilla, Beranger, Martos, Echegaray, Conde de Ruis—Barrals & Canitz. A few people came in after dinner Riaños, Bouillés &c– | |
