19 January 1873 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 19th [January 1873]. It was a very windy disagreeable day still I walked with Henry to the Quartett concert & afterwards on to the Palace to see the Dragonettis– Mr Underdown dined with us also Palmaroli & Mr Gayangos & afterwards I went to fetch the Duchess & we went to the ball—they were a great many people there & we sat most of the time in the conservatory & came home after 1 o’cl: The Dss was beautifully dressed with white satin trimmed with the fur of the blue fox & I wore mourning for the Emperor. | |
