3 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Monday. 3rd [March 1873]. Copied all the morning only interrupted by a visit from Emilia’s little baby boy. I went out & then & fetched Emilia for a drive & then brought her home to tea to see Henry. We dined at 7 oclock & had Serrano & D. Servando Ruiz Gomez as they wanted to meet & didnt dare to go & see each other or they would have been said to be conspiring. They went away abt 10 o’cl. before anybody came. Mme Canitz was the 1st to come & several people came afterwards & stayed till past 12 & I was wearied by the time I got to bed. | |
