6 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 6th March [1873]. Busy in the morning copying &c– Esquivel came to give me a lesson & Clarita came to see me– Maffei also came to speak abt a mantilla he wanted me to get him. At 4 I went with Henry to the dentist & had 2 teeth stopped & we were there so long we had only time to take a turn in the Fuente before we went home. There were a good many idle people standing abt the Cortès but all was quiet. I read in the evening some “Ticknor” to Henry. | |
