16 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 16th [March 1873]. I wasted all the morng in stringing my pearls putting seed one between each larger pearl. We went to the concert with Clarita & the Riaños joined us but Emilia felt so unwell they were obliged to go away very soon. Very good concert & we slipped away after the Ave Maria had been played the 1st time & so got out well. I left the Hunts in the Puerta del Sol & went to see Mme Ettling whom I found in. It was an over cast day. The Canitz’ dined with us & after dinner we had a little music. | |
