17 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Monday. 17th [March 1873]. Spent the whole morning making a new sort of collars & cuffs & then painted as I could not go out the weather being so bad. Had a visit from Serrano. In the evening we had 3 lovely quartetts but very few people came. Mirecki had organized the music for us & a M. Marquès played. We got to bed abt 1. Henry had telegram to say that Gladstone remains in for wh we are very glad. | |
