18 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 18th [March 1873]. I went to see Mme la Romana but she was in bed with a cold & only saw her daughter—& left some cards & then went to pay a visit to Emilia & going up to her met Henry coming down so we both went up for a few moments—& then came home. Colibert called on his way back to England abt the Duke of Wellington’s affairs—& Mme Ettling came to tea– After dinner I read aloud & then we went to Bouillés wh was duller than ever. | |
