19 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 19th March [1873]. I painted all the morning & Esquivel came & gave me a lesson. At 2 Aurelie Canitz came & we play piano & harm duetts till 3 when Mme Vernouillet called & brought her child & then A & I went out together. We went to the Ayltons to felicitate Mme A on her Saint’s day (San Josè) & then took the two girls out driving. We got out being fine weather at the Prado & walked all up to the top of the Recolletos where we met Henry, he & I came home & the others went their own way. In the evening I read Ticknor out loud. | |
