21 March 1873 — Madrid | |
Friday. 21st [March 1873]. I sewed all the morning to finish copying a fichu that Mme Ettling lent me– In the afternoon I went to fetch Emilia & we drove together & went to the dentist abt my tooth. He used the new american machine to my tooth– The boy works a treadle wh makes the instrument revolve & so cuts away what required—the sensation is not pleasant. Mme Ettling came to tea. Read Ticknor in the evening– | |
